Alexia’s adventure began back in her university years when she discovered karate. In just five short years, her dedication earned her the 1st dan black belt in Shotokan karate, recognized by the World Karate Federation.
Her journey took a new turn in 2012 when London became her home. It was here that she embraced the world of boxing and kickboxing, proving her love for combat sports.
A passion for teaching led Alexia to work with children. She has been teaching Spanish and Music in primary schools and worked as a teaching assistant. Plus, she’s spent time volunteering as a GCSE tutor, helping students with subjects like Maths, English, Spanish and Chemistry.
As a volunteer assistant instructor at the Wimbledon Kickboxing and Boxing Club, Alexia helps to teach techniques in both the kids and adults’ classes. She believes in making learning fun and instilling values like respect, confidence and self-discipline, especially in the kids’ classes.
Her dedication to martial arts extended to Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, and in April 2023, she proudly earned her purple belt, becoming the sole female in the club to achieve this rank.
But Alexia is not just a coach; she’s actively participated in interclub and amateur boxing fights, where she was able to test her skills.
Alexia’s qualifications expand beyond martial arts. She is a fully qualified kettlebell instructor and a Level 3 personal trainer, which makes her a well-rounded fitness expert.
Beyond her achievements, what drives Alexia is her mission to inspire others to become fitter and stronger. She knows the importance of preparing both your body and mind for strength and longevity, especially as you approach your 60s.
Apart from leading the sessions at the London Kettlebell Club, she also offers 1:1 and group sessions. Her focus is on tailored functional training, strength and conditioning, longevity, mobility and flexibility.
Since the beginning of January 2024, Alexia has been running an after-school Kickboxing and Boxing Club for children ages 5 and 9 at Castle Hill Primary School in Chessington. In April, she started teaching boxing for children and teenagers ages 7-15 at the Surbiton Racket and Tennis Club, where she also runs kettlebell HIIT and mobility sessions.
